That is it from this game then! Two teams have ensured their qualifications - Heat and Sixers, whereas the Renegades, Hurricanes and Thunder have been knocked out. Big Bash action continues on Saturday. Two games are coming your way. First, it is, Perth taking on the Heat and then the Melbourne Derby will follow. The action begins at 1045 IST (0515 GMT). The build-up though begins a lot earlier. Till then, goodbye and take care!
The Man of the Match Award has been given to Steve O'Keefe!
Thunder will be disappointed, they were off to a flier but after the top two, the middle and the lower-order failed big time. Just the one batter apart from Hales and Warner went past the 20 and that was Liam Hatcher right down at number 10. Till then, the game was done and dusted. It is yet another loss for Thunder who have had a season to forget.
What a turnaround after the Powerplay! What a win for the Sixers. Chasing a moderate total, Thunder were off to a flier, they were going at over 10s after the first four but once Hales fell, it all went downwards for them. Steve O'Keefe was the one who started it off and he got really good support from Todd Murphy too. The two applied the brakes. Then it was the likes of Ben Dwarshuis and Hayden Kerr who continued the good work. They really adapted well and bowled how the surface demanded them too. We did mention they are a side who defend well and this is another top effort by their bowlers.

That should have been the end of the innings! On middle, this is hit down to long on. They take one and go for the second. Steven Smith puts in a wild throw which Hayden Kerr fails to collect. A better throw and Tanveer Sangha would have been well gone.

SIX! He has hit that really well! On middle, a slower one. Liam Hatcher waits and then sends it sailing over the mid-wicket fence for a biggie.
