Right then, that is it from this hugely one-sided game where Jamaica Tallawahs all but confirm their spot in the playoffs and will play the Eliminator against Saint Lucia Kings only. However, their is still one league game to go in the Caribbean Premier League 2023 where Barbados Royals will take on Guyana Amazon Warriors on 18th September, Monday at 4.30 am IST (11.30 pm GMT, the Previous Day), but you can join us early for all the build-up to that game. Cheers!
Imad Wasim, the winning captain says that Alex Hales was fantastic and says that he is lucky to witness his knock. He adds that he wanted to bat first and they capitalized well. He adds that they played as one unit and the experienced players stepped up well for them. He mentions that last year was the same story and says that momentum is very important and feels that he is on a dangerous team.
Sikandar Raza credits Jamaica for playing well and says that they were outplayed in every department. He adds that the only way is up and says they will improve for their match on Tuesday. He says that they did not bowl as planned and appreciates Alex Hales for batting brilliantly. Says that there are only night games coming up and that their bad game is done now.
Alex Hales is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his magnificent century. He says he found the middle of the bat from ball one and everything clicked from thereon. Adds that it was an important knock for the team and he was lucky too. He says that he saw a couple of off-spinners and accelerated to keep the scorecard ticking. Praise Imad for his batting and says some of the sixes were delightful to watch. Says that they need to keep being confident and play aggressive cricket like they did in this game. Ends by saying they need to continue this momentum in the eliminator.
The Presentation ceremony…
Earlier in the game, after being forced to bat first, Jamaica Tallawahs posted a massive total on the board courtesy of a magnificent century from Alex Hales and a fine hand from stand-in skipper Imad Wasim. Roston Chase picked up a couple of wickets for Saint Lucia Kings while Matthew Forde and Alzarri Joseph chipped in with one each. While chasing, Saint Lucia Kings produced one of the most disappointing batting performances in this season as they fell to a big defeat which could shake their confidence before the eliminator probably against the same opposition.
Jamaica Tallawahs, on the other hand will be extremely proud of their bowling effort, and that too in an important game for them. Mohammad Amir set the tone by getting rid of both Roshon Primus and Leonardo Julien at the top, but then it was all about the spinners who gave nothing away and kept creating the chances. Chris Green was the pick of the lot with a fine four-wicket haul conceding just 15 runs in four overs. Hayden Walsh also picked up one and Imad Wasim finished it off with two wickets in the end.
Saint Lucia Kings got off the worst possible starts as they lost both their openers quite early and without much on the board. They went further on the back foot when they were reduced to 44-4 inside the Powerplay. Only Bhanuka Rajapaksa looked to be up for the task and hit a few lusty blows before perishing for 22 runs. No other batter could even cross the 20-run mark which says it all about them in this game and they will need to erase this from their memories quickly to focus on the playoffs now.
A dominating win for Jamaica Tallawahs! They have almost confirmed their spot in the playoffs in some style as well. They have found their form just at the right at the business end of the season and they will be a force to reckon with in the next round as they can repeat their heroics from the last season as they finished fourth as well and went on to lift the title.

OUT! RUN OUT! Imad Wasim tosses this one up and on leg. Jeavor Royal flicks it to the fielder at mid-wicket and sets off for a quick single. Kirk Mckenzie is to the ball quickly and throws it to the keeper. Alzarri Joseph is late to the run and is caught miles out of the crease as the keeper takes off the bails. That is the game and Jamaica Tallawahs have won it comfortably.
